Educational Journey and Training
Dr. Dennis grew up in the beautiful state of Utah and attended Brigham Young University, where he earned his degree in neuroscience. His studies led him to the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD, where he pursued his dream of becoming a physician and joined the Air Force.
After completing medical school and a transitional internship at David Grant Medical Center, Dr. Dennis embarked on an exciting journey as a flight surgeon at Beale Air Force Base. He worked closely with the U-2 spy plane program, tackling the unique challenges faced by pilots flying above 70,000 ft. His expertise in the physiologic stresses placed on these pilots, including wearing full-pressure suits, earned him a special place in the U-2 community. His broad experience also included logging flight hours in 10 different airframes.
During his time as a flight surgeon, Dr. Dennis discovered his true passion: Ophthalmology. He completed rigorous ophthalmology residency training at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (SAUSHEC). His outstanding performance during residency was recognized with multiple awards for research, academic achievements, and patient care.
