
Brett D. Brimhall, MD is a board certified, award winning physician and eye surgeon. His unique and extensive training and skills have enabled him to provide the highest quality in eye surgery and care.
In 1994 Dr. Brimhall graduated from Brigham Young University, majoring in Chinese and biology. In 2005 the U.S. Air Force provided full funding for his medical school training at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, where he graduated in the top of his class.
After finishing general medical training, he elected to practice general medical care as a flight surgeon, and regularly flew in F-16 fighter jets. In 2002 he was accepted into one of the top eye surgery programs of the nation, Wilford Hall Medical Center. He excelled in the program and was awarded several prestigious awards for his surgical abilities and research. In 2004 he was named chief resident, graduating in 2005.
Award Winning Cataract Surgeon Dr. Brimhall was given the high honor of receiving the first place award for the national ACES Bloomberg Cataract Competition – a nation-wide cataract surgery competition demonstrating his surgical dexterity, skill, and safety. Since being awarded that honor he has performed thousands of additional surgeries. He has been regularly asked to perform surgeries for many of the Air Force VIPs and generals, including a previous Surgeon General of the United States.
The culmination of Dr. Brimhall’s knowledge and expertise were required when he deployed to Iraq as an eye trauma surgeon. There he performed the most delicate and complicated eye surgeries, helping hundreds of patients with serious injuries, including our U.S. troops, Iraqi civilians and dignitaries.
